In middle school and high school: couldn't wait until Christmas Break
In college: couldn't wait until Christmas Break
As a teacher: can't wait until Christmas Break!
Hahaha! In all actuality, while I really can't wait until Christmas Break (3 more weeks!!!), I really worry about those two weeks off for my kiddos....will they be safe? Will they have a happy Christmas? WILL THEY REMEMBER HOW TO ADD AND SUBTRACT FRACTIONS WHEN THEY GET BACK?!?!?!?
But the beginning of December also means it is time for Currently December with Farley!
Listening to....the fire crackling!
Loving......Another cold front has come into Texas - after a weekend with temperatures in the upper 70s. The high is 40 today, so I have a nice, big fire going in the fireplace. All this back-and-forth weather-wise gets so confusing! But, at least, we get to keep out the fall clothes a little bit longer. The temperatures will be back to 70 by the weekend.
Thinking...right now, as I type, I am laminating all the activities I made over Thanksgiving for my students to use the next three weeks. See, I just took a break from typing to put another sheet in the laminator and you didn't even notice! :)
Wanting....everything to be perfect the next three weeks. Perfect students, no stress at home, all my work done at night by little elves. A girl can hope, right?
Needing....more time before bedtime each night. I can be Grumpy Grumperson if I don't get 7-8 hours of sleep, so my bedtime is pretty set. With so much going on after work the next few weeks, a couple more hours magically squeezed in would be awesome! As it is, I need to vacuum my floors pretty badly!
Giving....this year I am giving to two of our Angel Tree children. My class has adopted one, so I will get cute clothes for the 12 month old while the students get her clothes. Also, my boyfriend and I adopted a 17-year-old boy from the Angel Tree....I'm going to defer to my boyfriend on his presents! Both of the children come from our county's Emergency Children's Shelter, and I feel really blessed to help these precious kids have a good Christmas.

Have a great start to December, and don't forget to hit up the TpT Cyber Monday (and Tuesday) sale for up to 28% off!
What an amazing opportunity for your students to get to experience giving back! I love that idea!
ReplyDeleteForget the floors--avoiding housework will help make the next three weeks perfect, right?
I also love the idea of your students adopting another child to help out this holiday season! Such an important life lesson you are teaching them. I giggled when I read the part about adding and subtracting fractions. After just two days off for Thanksgiving, many of my 4th graders completely forgot how to divide, even after we spent three weeks working on it. Ughhh!!! Happy to be your newest follower!

I would love a few extra hours squeezed in between work ending and me needing to head to bed! I LOVE the idea of your kiddos helping with the Angel Tree. Great idea!
